The Lapeer County Courthouse is now the oldest courthouse in Michigan which serves its original purpose. It remains a fine example of the dignified Doric style. The courthouse can be rented for your events.

Our vision is to develop the Thumb Octagon Barn complex for the community as an agricultural museum and educational center open to individuals, families and student groups to educate and stimulate awareness of our agricultural heritage.

The Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum is a collection of more than a dozen historic buildings located on ten acres of the original Dr. Joseph Loop estate in the Lake Huron harbor village of Port Sanilac. The Sanilac County Historical Society invites you to step back in time as you wander through the beautiful gardens and the Victorian, Edwardian, and vintage buildings and exhibits that are featured on the property.

Step through time into Grice House, which has been furnished entirely by donated items from numerous area families to depict life in this part of Michigan in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

In 2006 the home became available just ahead of the wrecking ball. The Sebewaing Area Historical Society took on the restoration of the home. The woodwork, light fixtures, and hardwood floors are original and in great condition.

This 1902 Dutch colonial home was built by Wallace E. Allen, the town’s longest serving mayor. The home was owned by only one family and is nearly unchanged from its original configuration. Many of the homes original features are still as they were in 1902. The home is furnished with period antiques throughout.
